June

I love June. It’s a great month –vacations, birthdays, anniversaries, and sleeping in – lots of occasions to celebrate. June 2011 was no exception.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Lake LBJ with the Wootan family (minus Gina who was unable to get away from work). The weather was hot, but the lake was cold. Benjamin relished each moment with his cousins, Emma and Weezer. They read books, played trains, ate Blizzards, and swam as often as someone would take them. Of course, Banjo also loved spending time with Nana, Poppy, and Val. Tim fished to his heart’s content (although it did land him in the ER one night with a fish hook mishap). I did lots of reading and relaxing. It was all in all a wonderful way to begin the summer.

We were also busy with small projects around our house – painting and such. It’s been nice to continue making ourselves at home here and sprucing up the place. We hope to continue with a bit more work this month. I’ll have to post some pictures of our home improvements before summer’s end.

June brought Tim’s parents to Dallas for a visit as well. We enjoyed having them here and went to some fun places like the Science and Nature Museum, North Park Mall, and Benjamin’s favorite restaurant, Mariano's. Best of all, Grandma and Pop Pop helped us celebrate Banjo’s birthday, making it extra special.

And now it’s time to move on to July and continue this favored time of year!
