It's kindergarten eve and the prayers have been said, the baths have been taken, and the clothes are laid out. We have shopped for extra uniforms and supplies, packed the bags, and talked about how to celebrate after school tomorrow. Tim and I are happy to see Benjamin start his first day at Lakewood. It seems exactly right and totally wrong simultaneously. For his part, Benjamin is ready. He woke up this morning proclaiming excitedly that tomorrow is his first day! It's kindergarten eve and certainly this is a milestone worth celebrating.
It's kindergarten eve, and I am ready to freeze time - just for a little while.

Lovin' Summer
Tonight was Popsicles at the Playground at Lakewood, Benjamin's first official kindergarten event. It has been a fun summer, and it's not quite over yet, but it is beginning to wind down...
July has been especially busy. We took a road trip to west Texas where we got to visit the Davis Mountains, see the Midland side of the family, and attend a friend's wedding. Then we came home just long enough to do laundry and we left for Alabama. There we got to spend a week with the Pattillo family and enjoy lots of outdoor time, especially on the ocean. Finally, we spent one last weekend away on Lake LBJ. It is such a gorgeous place, and we had lots of fun. Now August is upon us and we're looking forward to doing some things around the house, including getting Benjamin a new bed (he sleeps diagonally in this little bed). I'm trying to get into the school spirit by shifting my reading list with school in mind...
Fourth in Dallas
Looking forward, on August 26, our sweet Banjo boy will begin kindergarten. It's a bit unreal.
