Our last day on Daufuskie Island was just as relaxing as the first two. We spent some time at the beach, ate at Marshside Mama's, bought a few things at The Iron Fish Gallery, and took a last ride around the island in our golf cart. Daufuskie is such a special place; Benjamin was teary-eyed on Wednesday morning when we had to leave. Next time he says he wants to bring his golf stuff. So funny.
On Wednesday after we road the boat back to the marina in Hilton Head, we returned to Georgia for our big day in Savannah. Despite the very, very rainy weather, we saw lots in the historic district and even got to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant, The Lady and Sons. The food was delicious, as expected. Savannah is such a unique city with so much history; I feel like we need to go back again and spend a little more time...and eat a few more meals!
(Don't worry; he's screaming excitedly after being drenched in the thunderstorm!)
Now we are on the last stop. We'll be spending some quality time with the Pattillo family in Gulf Shores. So far Benjamin is having a great time with his cousins with the promise of more to come!
Summer memories!
